Join Maija Flood, Edward Merlino and Po Goh as they explore the unique timbres of the clarinet, flute and piano within the context of small chamber ensemble. From the evocative landscapes of Debussy’s Petite Suite to the obsessive, repetitious motifs of Guillermo Connesson’s Techno Parade, the three traverse vibrant worlds of sound that reveal the many sonic possibilities of this instrument combination.

Artist Bios
Edward Merlino bio:
Edward Merlino is a flautist based in Melbourne and an avid chamber musician. Edward has been privileged to perform both orchestral and small chamber works internationally at Festivals such as the Portillo International Music Festival and the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity Chamber Music Residency. Edward completed his Bachelor of Music (Honours) at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music in 2024, travelling to Singapore and Malaysia on the University of Melbourne Symphony Orchestra’s 2023 tour. Edward also enjoys performing solo, winning the Victorian Flute Guild’s Leslie Barklamb Flute Competition in 2024.
Maija Flood bio:
Maija Flood is a clarinettist from Dja Dja Wurrung Country, Victoria, having completed her Bachelor of Music (Hons.) at the Melbourne Conservatorium in 2025. Maija is incredibly passionate about chamber music, performing regularly across Melbourne with her wind quintet ‘Auralis Ensemble.’ She has also participated in international residencies such as the Portillo International Music Fesitval in Chile, the Banff Chamber Music Residency in Canada and the Voksenåsen Summer Academies.
Po Goh bio:
From play-conducted concertos with the ANAM Orchestra, performing his own compositions at the Melbourne Recital Centre and beyond, taking on Musical Director roles for community theatre productions, repetiteuring for the Australian Contemporary Opera Company, singing and writing for Voices of Asia Chamber Choir, and even originating roles on the stage, Po’s artistic practice knows no bounds. Having received generous support from Sir John Monash, ADFAS, Gwen Nisbet Scholarship, Anna Chmiel Memorial Fund, Joan Earle and Bernie’s Music Land, Po is determined to keep live music alive.
