Nightingale Gallery is a contemporary fine art gallery situated on High Street, Armadale, one of Melbourne’s most distinguished cultural and lifestyle precincts. Known for its refined boutique shopping, restaurants and heritage streetscape just 7 km from the CBD, Armadale offers access to an established collector base and an affluent, internationally connected community.

Established in 2025, the gallery presents exhibitions by emerging and established artists from Australia and around the world. Housed in a heritage-listed space with polished concrete floors and lofty ceilings, Nightingale Gallery provides a distinctive architectural setting for ambitious contemporary practice.

Applications from established and emerging artists working in all mediums are welcome to apply. Solo and group exhibitions will be considered.

Core Program

Nightingale Gallery is now accepting proposals from artists interested in joining our Core Artist stable in 2027.

Core Artists are supported through a dedicated solo exhibition, presented in either our main gallery or second gallery space, alongside comprehensive strategic support across sales, marketing and logistics.

We are seeking proposals for new bodies of work developed specifically for exhibition at Nightingale Gallery. Only new works will be considered; proposed works must not have previously been exhibited at another gallery.

This opportunity is intended for artists looking to develop and present a cohesive new body of work with the support of an established gallery framework.

Gallery Rental

Nightingale Gallery invites proposals for rental of our second gallery space — a curated exhibition space dedicated to contemporary practice from both emerging and established artists.

Exhibitions are selected through proposal and curatorial review.

Our more intimate second gallery operates alongside our main gallery program and offers:

  • Opportunities for both early-career and established artists
  • A generous 6.2m x 9.6m dedicated exhibition space
  • curated exhibitions

Artists selected for both galleries are supported by the Nightingale team from concept development through to collector engagement, regardless of consignment or rental models.

Gallery Rental INCLUSIONS:

Gallery Rental exhibition includes:

  • Pre-exhibition curatorial consultation and ongoing advisory support
  • Exhibition installation and deinstallation by the Nightingale team
  • Opening event with staffed cash bar service
  • Custom-designed digital exhibition invitations for artist and gallery distribution
  • Vinyl-cut exhibition wall text and signage (Exhibition title and artist name only)
  • Dedicated online exhibition listing and individual artwork pages
  • Promotion via Nightingale Gallery’s mailing list, website and social channels
  • Gallery lighting
  • End-to-end sales management, including invoicing, payment processing, and artwork coordination
  • Permanent exhibition documentation and archival listing on the Nightingale website
  • Private collector viewings by appointment

Rates

Fortnight Exhibition (2 Weeks)

$2800 + GST

A 10% commission applies to all artworks sold during the exhibition period.
