Luciana Corres

Luciana Corres is a distinguished Mexican artist and designer. Born in Mexico City, she completed a Fine Arts degree at the prestigious Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes in Mexico City followed by participation in a multitude of diverse workshops internationally including in France, Spain and India. More recently her work has sought further inspiration in the Orient particularly in Japan and Hong Kong.

She is a multifaceted artist who continues to explore an incredibly broad artist range including textiles, jewellery, sculpture, object art, painting and photography. Luciana is particularly renown for successfully combining contemporary design with traditional Mexican craft techniques. Jewellery design has consistently been at the core of her work and through this medium has created a range of one-of-a-kind pieces that whisper their beauty quietly and pay homage to ancient and almost lost techniques including weaving , crochet, knitting and fillagree. Her pieces employ materials such as sterling silver, 18 K gold plate, semi-precious stones and metal threads, combining to create almost weightless pieces.

 Luciana has exhibited widely at major museums in Mexico and internationally including the Museo Textile de Oaxaca, Museo Franz Meyer in Mexico City, MoMA shop at MoMA New York, Design Centre Oaxaca for the BID14 Latin American Design Biennial and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum, Marrakech, Morocco. Her work is sought-after and worn by luminaries of the Mexican political, cultural and entertainment sectors.
