Aus Harp Fest: Solo Concert Series

Aus Harp Fest: Solo Concert Series showcases works written by Australian women and/or harpist-composers - Nat Barsch, Tara Minton, Lisa Cheney, Mary Doumany, Natalia Mann, Paul Nicolaou and Katia Mestrovic.
You will hear an extensive diversity of techniques and styles, from modern classical, to jazz and non-Western modes and rhythms. Each concert will have a slightly different program.

Aus Harp Fest is a two year project (2026 - 2027) lead by Katia Mestrovic and supported by Creative Australia, involving over 30 Australian Artists. The collective will promote Australian artists, performers and composers, the versatility of the modern harp, and will foster a sense of cohesion, creativity, and support within the harp community. The project includes national and international performances (of harp solo, duet, trio and quintet), the premiere and arrangement of new works, and the release of an “Aus Harp Fest” album with national tour (2027).

Artist Biography
Katia Mestrovic is an eclectic, classically trained, award-winning harpist and composer. Through performances featuring her original compositions, distinctive arrangements, and cross-genre repertoire—including modern classical, jazz, and Celtic music—she showcases the harp's remarkable versatility and expressive range. Her current focus, Aus Harp Fest, is dedicated to championing Australian composition and fostering collaboration with Australian artists. Through this initiative, she seeks to cultivate a vibrant, supportive, and innovative Australian harp community.
